Prior to starting with Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business, I was struggling with finding a way to align everyone in our diverse practices towards common goals, due to varying cultures, client demographics, and personalities.

The catalyst that led me to seek a solution was my desire to upskill and improve my management abilities. During the pandemic, I received an email inviting me to a free two-day online course with Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business. This experience was engaging, and it vividly highlighted the challenges we faced, along with providing practical solutions.

The two-day course convinced me there was a significant opportunity to make a substantial difference for our teams and our business. It did take some time to overcome scepticism from my managers, but with a change in our General Manager, who saw the potential, we were able to engage with Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business in several programs.

The Chrysalis program has been a game-changer for identifying and nurturing our future leaders. These individuals, who were promoted to managerial roles in the past with limited impact from training, now possess valuable leadership tools. They’ve since become champions for the Leading Edge for Veterinarians program among our veterinarians and nurses.

Enrolling our keen staff in the Leading Edge for Veterinarians program has significantly boosted their confidence and client-handling skills. This has resulted in higher patient advocacy, reduced mercy billing, and increased vet productivity. Having everyone on the same program has also fostered a consistent language that benefits team dynamics and facilitates change.

Additionally, participating in the Leading Edge for Veterinarians program has been personally rewarding. It prompted significant self-reflection, leading to improvements in my interpersonal skills and confidence in handling tough conversations at work and in my personal life.

Initially, I embarked on the Leading Edge for Veterinarians program to support my team and align our communication. However, it has surpassed my expectations by enhancing my leadership and client relationship skills. I’m excited to continue my development over the next six months.

The most crucial metric – profitability – has shown significant improvement. Despite economic pressures, we’ve experienced increased profitability, highlighted by enhanced veterinarian productivity and more nurse consultations.

I would be surprised if there’s a veterinary practice that wouldn’t benefit from the programs provided by Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business. Your organisation stands out due to your exceptional relevance to veterinary practice and your engaging delivery of information.

I want to extend my gratitude to Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business for your dedication to supporting our industry. I am confident we will continue to work together for many years to come.
