Alan graduated from Melbourne University in 1993. From 1994, Alan spent two and a half years in mixed practice in the Adelaide Hills, before moving into the corporate world to work for Mars.
His experience in people management was integral on his return to general practice in 1998. In that time, his Practice grew from two and a half to 10 FTE veterinarians and a total team of over 50 across the group.
Alan believes veterinary practice has the potential to be one of the greatest and most fulfilling careers. To achieve that, he and his business partner have set out to build a sustainable, profitable Practice in which the whole team can grow and thrive, whilst giving Alan financial and time freedom.
In 2012, Alan joined Michelle McArthur in tutoring Communication Skills to veterinary science students at the University of Adelaide. This program conducts simulated consultations with students using the Calvary Cambridge model.
Alan loves spending time with his family and is actively involved in his kids’ hobbies. He is passionate about cycling, having enjoyed cycling adventures on Road and MTB in multiple countries.
Alan is a graduate of the Lead to Succeed program and a member of the Lead to Succeed coaching team.
