The Emerging Leaders program has been met with enthusiasm and positivity, marking a significant shift in team dynamics.

Veterinary Specialists Auckland Ltd

With two Specialist Hospitals and a team of 52 full-time staff and 10 casuals, managing our dynamic team is a significant part of my role.

We grappled with numerous challenges, including managing a diverse team with varying personalities, navigating through significant organisational changes, and ensuring our team was aligned with our vision and values. Additionally, finding the time for strategic planning and tackling staff issues was becoming increasingly demanding.

The challenges took a toll on my personal wellbeing, resulting in long hours, heightened stress levels, and an overwhelming workload. I found myself shouldering too many tasks that could have been delegated, ultimately hindering the team’s autonomy and accountability.

Working with Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business has been transformative. I learned to delegate effectively, prioritise tasks, and carve out time for strategic planning. I also shifted the responsibility of problem-solving back to the team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability. The teams are now engaged, proactively seeking improvements, and handling difficult conversations with confidence.

While we are still in the early stages of our partnership with Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business, we are starting to see financial gains. More importantly, the overall satisfaction and happiness levels across our teams have soared. The Emerging Leaders program has been met with enthusiasm and positivity, marking a significant shift in team dynamics.

For anyone considering Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business’ programs, I wholeheartedly endorse attending a two-day introductory event. It was the catalyst for our deeper involvement in the Lead to Succeed program. The emphasis on behavioural growth and the inclusive approach to up-skilling the entire team were game-changers.

Joining the Lead to Succeed program has been a pivotal decision for us. The focus on developing the behavioural component of our team has already yielded benefits. It has brought our leadership team closer, refocusing our collective aspirations. The Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business team’s passion and expertise have ignited our enthusiasm and demonstrated the power of a shared vision and values.

In closing, I would encourage anyone considering Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business’ programs to take the leap. The impact on our team and practice has been profound, and we’re excited about the positive trajectory we’re on.
