Unity, support, laughter, and a surge of ideas and initiatives highlight the newfound vibrancy in our practice as a result of Leading Edge for Veterinarians.

Malvern Veterinary Hospital

For too long, I was struggling to effectively communicate within a team of 40 veterinary professionals. I didn’t have a road map or the necessary skills to overcome this challenge.

I was experiencing deep feelings of frustration and unhappiness that had me seriously contemplating retirement. Despite financial stability, the overwhelming stress had taken its toll, and I was ready to walk away. Thankfully, I found Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business.

I first encountered Lincoln Institute when I learned about Leading Edge for Veterinarians, likely at a conference.

I approached the idea of Leading Edge for Veterinarians with a healthy dose of scepticism. While I had experience with various business management programs, none had significantly improved my day-to-day experience.

Desperation became a driving force. I was on the verge of throwing in the towel. Sleepless nights, pandemic-induced burnout, workforce shortages, and a rapid two-year expansion left us overwhelmed. The shift from control to confusion necessitated a change.

Since implementing Leading Edge for Veterinarians, our management structure has become aligned. Critical management members are now on the same page, leading to improved communication and cohesion within the team.

The transformation isn’t just professional; it’s deeply personal. Others have noticed a difference in me. Trust has blossomed, and there’s a shared sense of purpose at work. Relationships, both personal and professional, have experienced a positive shift.

The initial goal was simple: to rekindle my love for the profession. The program is an ongoing process, involving the acquisition of new skills and daily practice. We’re making excellent progress, and it’s refreshing to see light at the end of the tunnel. I feel in control again.

While financial metrics take a back seat, the intangible benefits have been profound. Unity, support, laughter, and a surge of ideas and initiatives highlight the newfound vibrancy in our practice as a result of Leading Edge for Veterinarians.

To anyone considering Leading Edge for Veterinarians, my advice is unequivocal – do it! The program has revitalised my passion for veterinary practice, preventing me from walking away from a profession I cherish.

Without Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business, I might have sold my practice and left the field. The newfound sense of control and empowerment, coupled with reduced frustration, have been transformative for me and my team.
